What is the Bible?

"Is not My word like fire," declares the LORD, "and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?"

(Jeremiah 23:29).

“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."

(Hebrews 4:12).

"Within the covers of the Bible are the answers for all the problems men face." (Ronald Reagan).

Ah, so many great people think that the Bible is something religious and in daily life is not applicable. So many, simply because of ignorance, because of not knowing what is written in the pages of the Bible, deny and refuse the knowledge which is given in the pages of the Bible and thereby walk through life without the light, and suffer terribly making mistakes after mistake. Ah, how many great people strive and toil to find love, peace, joy, happiness, unity and satisfaction, and fulfillment... but the more they try, the deepest need for these things can grow.

It is only God who gives wisdom by which we attain things for which our souls are yearning. From the mouth of God comes wisdom and understanding as it is said in Proverbs 2:6. And the Bible is the Words of God from the first page till the last; and there is a very little if at all, link with the religion in the direct sense of this word. Contrary to the world's opinion about the Bible, all the words written in this book are pure wisdom, life, and health to the whole body for those who find them and keep them in their hearts day and night. (Proverbs 4:22).

Bible is actual communication from our heavenly Father to us, mankind. In spite of all Bible, critics sayings the Bible is an unchanged, absolute, unrevised Word of God. Each and every book is exactly the same as they were written originally. People have polluted their minds with different kinds of strange teachings about God and His Word, and the enemy is working hard to keep it that way.

Everyone who has doubts can make some resources on secular literature. Secular literature is one of the sources from which we can draw a conclusion that the Bible is reliable.

Another source of proof to that is scientific researches which proofs that events and course of the development in the Bible are absolutely true. Bible gives accurate information on the chronology, geography, places, and people, which are proved to be right by the scientists. Descriptions about people, their customs, nations are true and undeniable.

Another proof of that is also the very Word of God Himself.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” ( 2 Timothy 3:16-17). Bible is the very Word of God to us in which He instructs us to live lives worthy may we receive the crown of life at the end. (2 Timothy 4:8; James 1:12; 1 Corinthians 9:25).

“Know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.” (2 Peter 1:20-21).

In comparison to Bible in all, a bit more as some 6000 years-long human history period, there is no one book written by the human author which is so true, full with instructions on how to live blessed lives, and remain modern, suitable and appropriate in any given age. Bible is the world’s best-selling and most widely distributed book. Bible is the perfect, absolute, and completely trustworthy Word of God. I believe it also because Jesus said so; Jesus is the very Author of all that is written in the Bible. If we cling to opposite to that, then we say that Jesus was a liar. But Jesus is perfect so also Bible is perfect. “I tell you the truth until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished” (Matthew 5:18).

While ago I somewhere did read that Bible is a reliable world’s historical record. And that is what it is. God has revealed all about us and Him by giving us His Word. Without Bible, without the Word of God, we could not know where we come from and where we are going. Without Bible, we would live our lives without any hope, any help, and a future. Bible is the only book that predicts the future with 100 % accuracy. There is no other book that is read, studied, loved, and criticized so much as Bible.

The Bible is the loving letter from mighty, all-powerful God, our Father to us. In His letter He instructs us and leads may we live this life here on earth abundantly and perish not. (James 1:12). From the book of Genesis till the book of Revelation God has revealed to us how this world has come into existence, and how it will end. God loves all the world and He loves us so much that He has given instructions so that we have a full life here on earth and later unending life together with Him. Take this precious book and read verse by verse asking Him to reveal the Truth and God your Father will reveal it to you. For He wants nobody to perish. He wants all people to change their minds about Him, His Son, and His Spirit whom He will give to you so that you understand the Bible. Without God's Spirit in us, no school, no theological university, or anything else, - the individual is not able to understand the words of living God.

For through His Word, written in the Bible,

God tells how much He loves us -

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

He tells us why we are suffering -

“Sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin” (Romans 5:12; Genesis 2:17).

He tells us our origin, why we are here on earth. (Genesis 1:28; Revelation 4:11).

And in spite of all that we see and feel in this world, He is always with us, till the end of the world. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10; Colossians 1:16).

He tells that He longs to be in a relationship with us, so we could glorify Him, have fellowship with Him, and know His perfect plan for our life. (Romans 8:16-17, 10:17, 5:8; Jeremiah 29:11; Psalm 40:5;  James 4:5).

He encourages us and comforts us in our sufferings – “As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you.” (Isaiah 66:13; 2 Corinthians 1:4).

He gives us hope so we can endure: “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11; 1 Peter 1:3).

He lets us know we are free from sin and Satan’s power over us. (John 8:32, 8:36; Romans 6:18; Colossians 1:13).

He promises to strengthen us, to help, to lead and guide us, and later to wipe every tear from our eyes and give us home where “will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain… (2 Thessalonians 3:3; Revelation 21:4).

And so, so very much more.

How can anyone whose heart is not hardened as hard as stone say that Bible is just a fairytale or something made up? God who created you and me, in this very moment is calling out saying “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest…” (Mathew 11:28-30).

God, through His Word, has given us so many promises and instructions that we can stand firm in any life’s storm, but not so the people without God. (Psalm 37:17). God has redeemed us and reconciled us to Him so we can have peace because of His grace to us, but they who live apart from Him have to battle with the wind. God provided for us a way to Him – way through His Son Jesus Christ.

Thanks to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ that He gave us the Bible so we know who we are and what we can expect. Only through Bible do we know that we are forgiven and adopted, reverted back in our real, our Father’s family, from which we have had been banished out because of sin. Now again we are His dear children. Now we are friends with Him and in any time of need, we can boldly approach His throne of grace and ask for what we need. (Hebrews 4:16; Ephesians 3:12).

In the Bible, God has revealed to us His plan in regard to all world and specifically in regard to each and every one of us. We are not on this planet just by accident. God made us for His good pleasure and we ought to fulfill the plan of Him for us. In the Bible is revealed everything that we have to know about God the Father and ourselves. The Bible is a perfect and complete reference object to a full, abundant, and blessed life. God who created this world and established it so it will endure to His appointed end time when Jesus will return, is saying right now -

“Come to me and call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:3; Acts 2:21).

Overcome whatever it may be and discover the only thing that can grant you eternal life and give you more than you can think or imagine while you are here on earth. Listen not to your mind and people around you, but to your deepest inmost being. It will tell you what is right and true. (Hebrews 4:12).

Down deep in our souls each human being long for God. It is not we with our, by this world polluted minds, but our souls want return to God because the soul of every human being knows its Creator; knows that only in Him there is safety, peace, love, and joy. Our souls have the knowledge about God, so stop suppressing this knowledge and return to Him. Bible is the book of love, joy, peace, life...

“For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us (for our good), so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.” (Romans 15:4).

“As for God, His way is perfect: The LORD's Word is flawless; He shields all who take refuge in Him.” (Psalm 18:30; 12:6).

There is only one way how to receive peace, understanding, and wisdom, and find answers to countless life’s questions – read a unique love letter from the YHWH our Father, read the Bible.

“The secret things belong to the LORD our God,

but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever,

that we may follow all the words of this law”

(Deuteronomy 29:29).
