Second Commandment.

Do not humiliate yourself in front of man's hands made images!

First of all you must know that it is by grace you have beeen saved. It is not because of your good works etc. But if you count yourself religious and still rely on the laws to be forgiven and saved, than yes, you must read them and understand and keep.

But anyway I want to say!

Before you start read, know that the Law was given only to show people that they are sinful and they need Redeemer. Galatians 3:19. Since we have Redeemer already, each and every Law, commandment and decree, what ever there may be, are fulfilled by Jesus Christ. He did it for you. And after this they are fulfild also - if you love others as yourself. For those who love God and are loved by God, there are no really Law to follow for the entire Law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Galatians 5:14).

For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1:17.

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law

by becoming a curse for us (Galatians 3:13). If and still there is any doubt in your heart, see all Commandments (just to understand that no even one person has been able to keep them and will be not, for all are sinful and in need of Saviour) and anyway seek the Truth,  for Christ is the culmination of the Law so that there may be Righteousness for everyone who believes. Romans 10:4.

All who do love, are from God and God's Laws automatically are in his/her heart, for God Himself put them in. All people are exclusively saved by faith alone, by grace alone in/ through Christ alone. The life and godly walking according the God's advices will be what brings peace, joy and happiness.

People who are free from the Law are enabled to live and serve God from the bottoms of their hearts; they are able to love and do more than those who follow and try to live according to the Law. If you are in Christ and love people around you, than you have fulfiled ALL THE LAW.

Anyway, here is the good, holy and perfect Law:

Second Commandment.

You shall not make idols. You shall not bow down to them or worship them (Exodus 20:4-6; Deuteronomy 5:8-10).
Any of those who bow down in front of crafted, with man's hands made images have little understanding of God's revelation. Any of physical image or picture, or anything else, has not neither life nor power in it. All who bow down in front of any image are sadly mistaken and have attained little understanding who God really is and what He requires. They have gone from the truth themselves, and lead away from the truth those who would enter into relationship with God. We do not know how God looks like, and if we make with our hands imaginary figures and than bow down to them, than that is an abomination to God.

"No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is Himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made Him known." (John 1:18).
We must worship God in spirit and truth (John 4:24) and bow our knees only in front of Him in our spirit.

God has given serious warnings not to make any idol. He warns us not to bow down to worthless idols. We must be very careful not to engage in worshiping created things.
"But be very careful! You did not see the LORD's form on the day He spoke to you from the heart of the fire at Mount Sinai. So do not corrupt yourselves by making an idol in any form--whether of a man or a woman, or like any animal on earth or any bird that flies in the air, or like any creature that moves along the ground or any fish in the waters below. And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars--all the heavenly array--do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the LORD your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven." (Deuteronomy 4:15-19).
"So be very careful to love the LORD your God." (Joshua 23:11).

Apart from physical, created images, icons and pictures the "pride" and "ego" is the common human failure and sometimes even painful fall. Humans worship themselves by trusting in themselves and by craving after created things rather than Holy, living God. We must examine ourselves and worship only living God.
"So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don't be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Because of these sins, the anger of God is coming." (Colossians 3:5-6).

"Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry." (1 Corinthians 10:14)

"Dear children, keep yourselves from idols." (1 John 5:21).

"Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth."

(Colossians 3:1-2). NASB.
