"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels."

(Psalm 122:6-7).

Every person who professes faith in God must live by God's given principles. God is saying that if we do right He will do what He has promised and "God is not human, that He should lie, not a human being, that He should change His mind." (Numbers 23:19).

If we trust in one and true God then we pray for peace in Jerusalem and bless the Jews; we pray for God's holy chosen people because God said, "I will bless those who bless you (Jew), and whoever curses you I will curse..." (Genesis 12:3).

Those who live and pray according to the Word of God and bless Israel are to receive a special blessing upon them. God sternly warns the nations about their attitude towards His people, Israel: those who touches (the apple of his eye, Zechariah 2:8) and curses His people will be cursed.

History has proven beyond reasonable doubt that the nations that have blessed the Jewish people have had the blessing of God; the nations that have cursed the Jewish people have experienced the curse of God.

God told Abraham (the first Hebrew) that He would justify Gentiles by faith: "...all nations will be blessed through you." (Galatians 3:8). Gospel what we hear today was announced to Abraham (Abram) and as we can see in the genealogy of Christ (Messiah, God's anointed one) given in Matthew 1:17 "there were fourteen generations in all from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon, and fourteen from the exile to the Messiah." (Matthew 1:17).

Jesus was a Jew and we all are in debt to Jews for our blessed salvation and our duty is to pray for them and help them with all we can.

St. Paul recorded in Romans 15:27 "For if the Gentiles have shared in their (the Jews) spiritual things, they are indebted to minister to them also in material things."

Because "theirs (Jewish) is the adoption to sonship; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises." (Romans 9:4).

To Jews, God gave the Law and Prophets. The moral Laws by which we live today are from the Jews. The everlasting covenant of communion with God belonged to them. Jews were to be those who teach the very Word of God to all living nations on the planet.

Just because they failed in their responsibilities to share the light of truth, (Exodus 32:9) now we are honoured so highly, and entrusted with the responsibility to do that. "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." (Mark 16:15)

All who trust in God and call themselves "Christians" owe a debt of eternal gratitude to the Jewish people for from them to us has come the greatest blessing of all - JESUS CHRIST the SON of Holy Living GOD.

It is not possible to know God's Word and hate the Jews. It is not possible to love, profess and serve Holy God and do not love Jewish people who are God's chosen people.

The salvation that you and I have freely received is from the Jews. (John 4:22).

Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice greatly with her, all you who mourn over her." (Isaiah 66:10).

Rejoice, you nations, with His people, for He will avenge the blood of His servants; He will take vengeance on His enemies and make atonement for His land and people." (Deuteronomy 32:43).

"Again, it says, "Rejoice, you Gentiles, with His people." (Romans 15:10).

Pray for peace in Jerusalem and bless His people may all go well with you. For no matter how fierce God's anger is towards Israel, the time is coming when God will recover Israel. "I will build you up again, and you, Virgin Israel, will be rebuilt. Again you will take up your timbrels and go out to dance with the joyful." (Jeremiah 31:4).

God blesses those who bless Israel and He curses those who curse them. (Numbers 24:9).
