Who is God and where can we find Him?

ebrejuEl Shaddai

”I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

(Revelation 1:8).

“There is only one God: “I am the Lord, and there is no other; Besides Me, there is no God.” (

Isaiah 45:5).

“You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”

(Jeremiah 29:13).

”Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

(Matthew 7:7).

First of all, God who created the heavens and the earth just by His spoken Word, now is our Holy, righteous, and loving heavenly Father.

God created everything that exists. God is love (1 John 4:7-9,4:16) and He knows all things (1 John 3:20) which we, as limited human beings, will never understand or comprehend. It is not possible for us to know and understand God fully. But everything that we have to know about Him, God Himself is revealed in the Bible. For His glory and for our good.

God created humans and wants to have a relationship with us. When He created us, He also created a small gap in our souls, which we are not capable to fill with anything else, no matter how hard we try, except with Him. If there is no God, then there is no grace and when there is no grace there is no peace. Without God in us, there always will be some kind of emptiness, subtle unexplainable longing. God is love and He also is the one who provides for us and God wants to save us from eternal punishment. God is eager to give us good things.

God revealed His personality and His love to us in Bible and through His Son Jesus Christ. God is holy, merciful, and loving. God hates sin. God is just and right (Habakkuk 1:13).

God is the only supreme, eternally self-aware being, who had no beginning, nor will He cease to exist, who is transcendent, and immutable and of whom no greater being existed. God is almighty, holy, eternal, compassionate, omnipotent, omniscient, powerful, omnipresent, forgiving, invisible, merciful, righteous, loving, gracious…God is perfect.

“You alone are the LORD. You have made the heavens, the heaven of heavens with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to all of them and the heavenly host bows down before You.”

(Nehemiah 9:6; Acts 2:24).

“Before the mountains were born or You brought forth the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

(Psalm 90:2).

“This is what the Lord says-- your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the Lord the Maker of all things, who stretches out the heavens, who spreads out the earth by myself, God.”

(Isaiah 44:24).

“Praise the Lord from the earth, you great sea creatures and all ocean depths.”

(Psalm 148:7).

This is what the Lord says: “Heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool. Where is the house you will build for Me? Where will My resting place be? Has not My hand made all these things, and so they came into being?” declares the Lord.”

(Isaiah 66:1-2).

“For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever. Amen.”

(Romans 11:36).

Where can we find Him?

God is close to all of us… (Acts 17:27).

He is near, God is in our hearts. God is not in the buildings called churches (all His holy people form one body in Christ which is called the church and there is not at all relation to building whatsoever). God is not in the streets or anywhere else where people think He should be. Sometimes God is not even there where people worship Him by bowing down to idols; God sometimes is not even there where people call on His name and perform futile, ridiculous rituals as if it was done for God. All of that is blasphemy in His eyes.

God does not live in the temples made by human’s hands and He says – “do not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below” (Exodus 20:4).

The only way how we can find Him and worship Him is to go to His own Word and live according to it. We must go to Him personally, enter into His presence in our spirit and in truth. The only way to approach Him is to enter into His presence through His Son Jesus. Find Him and worship Him in your heart, in spirit, and in truth.

“I love those who love Me, and those who seek Me find Me.”

(Proverbs 8:17).

Jesus is saying - look at Me. Look at Me and not on your troubles. Choose good and look at Me! Come to Me and you will be satisfied.

(Isaiah 45:22-25; Matthew 11:28; John 7:37).

Seek Him while He may be found. (Isaiah 55:6).

Seek God, seek the right Way to Him which is His Son and receive the blessings, receive the eternal life. He is knocking at the door of your heart. Seek Him and you will find Him “for everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Matthew 7:8).

"As for God, His way is perfect: The LORD's word is flawless;

He shields all who take refuge in Him"

(Psalm 18:30).
