You shall not commit adultery!
This Commandment, as the rest of all, is about honour, respect and love. If love is maintained in our hearts and minds than we honour other person by not committing adultery. Adultery is the violation of the marriage covenant when one of partners wilfully participate in sexual activity with someone else outside the home/ marriage. Husband and wife are made to be together in close relationship, and meet each others needs (which are different) according not what this world's devastating teachings are, but according to the Word of God. God created marriage and design sex for humans to enjoy life to the full and said - "That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh." (Genesis 2:24).
"Male and female are created in unique way and "marriage should be honoured by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral." (Hebrews 13:4).
Paul teaches that "because there is so much sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman should have her own husband." (1 Corinthians 7:2). Those who forbid man to marry violate and break God's Commandments at all points. (1 Timothy 4:3).
It is difficult for many in this polluted and corrupted world to live for their full enjoyment just because people are led astray and do not know golden rules (God's instructions) for happy marriage. Temptations will always come but we can control our sensual desires by replacing them with concern for others by loving them in the way God teaches.
God's intent for male and female was to enjoy them stable sexual relationships and marriage. His intent was may they enjoy each other in abundant pleasures all the days of their life and only applying His wisdom in marital relationship it can be made possible.
God created sex and it was His idea for people to enjoy it.
Go to His Word, apply His instructions and enjoy life to the full. Nothing in this world comes for free. Right? Also happy marriage and stable sexual relationship requires investment of willingness, time and even some sacrifices. But I guarantee you that at the end you will be blessed and will praise God if you will follow His Commandments.
God often speaks about spiritual adultery which is unfaithfulness to God.
"You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend to the world becomes an enemy of God. Or do you think Scripture says without reason that He jealously longs for the spirit He has caused to dwell in us?" (James 4:4-5).
It is crucial to understand that all world is under the power of Satan. He rules as the prince of this earth. (John 14:30; John 12:31). God will never tolerate if we choose to worship god of this age (2 Corinthians 4:4). He always will see us as an adulterous people until we turn our attention exclusively on Him.
To those who worship anything else but Him God says - "You adulterous wife! You prefer strangers to your own husband! (Ezekiel 16:32).
Each and every Word of God is true and applies to all of us.
This Commandment and all the others is given to us to save us from our sins and its consequences, and teaches us to love the LORD your God and love your neighbour as yourself. All God's instructions are given may humans enjoy their life to full.
And as you know that there is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus, take to heart that your Maker is your Husband-- the LORD Almighty is His name - the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; He is called the God of all the earth. Galatians 3:28; Isaiah 54:5.
Serve Him alone and His blessings will be on your food and water. (Matthew 6:24). God must be first in all things and that is the only requirement, if obeyed, shows and helps how to avoid adultery both, physical and spiritual. Seek always His direction, wisdom and blessing
"Drink water from your own cistern, running water from your own well. Should your springs overflow in the streets, your streams of water in the public squares?
Let them be yours alone, never to be shared with strangers. May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth.
A loving doe, a graceful deer-- may her breasts satisfy you always, may you ever be intoxicated with her love.
Why, my son, be intoxicated with another man's wife? Why embrace the bosom of a wayward woman? For your ways are in full view of the LORD, and He examines all your paths."
