First Commandment.

I AM your GOD. I AM the ONLY ONE. I AM.

First of all you must know and understand that it is by grace you have been saved. It is not because of your good works etc.. But if you count yourself religious and still rely on the law to be forgiven and saved, than yes, you must read them and understand and keep. Every one of them.

Secondly I would like to add that for the word “law” in Hebrew in regard to these 10 commandments correct translation should be “principles.” God gave not only to the Jews but to whole world principles by which if lived, than there can be love, joy, peace and other blessings in person’s life.

Thirdly, any command or principle is with much more greater emphasis from that how we often see and comprehend them. For example it is said: “you shall not murder.” We directly imagine murdering human being. But actually is said also: “if you are angry at your brother or sister…” you are broken this one commandment already. You are murderer in your heart.

Furthermore, it is extremely important to understand that the main reason why the Law was given is, to show people that they are sinful and they are in great need of Redeemer. Galatians 3:19.

Since we have Redeemer already (to everyone who accepts Him and begin to follow His principles), each and every Law, commandment and decree, what ever there may be, are fulfilled by Jesus Christ. He did it for you on the Roman cross. Now, as He through the Holy Spirit begins to work in you, you will be made able to love GOD and love others as yourself.

You will be able to walk with God.

For those who love God and are loved by God, there are no really Law to follow for the entire Law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: "Love your neighbour as yourself" (Galatians 5:14).

The law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1:17.

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us (Galatians 3:13).

If and still there is any doubt in your heart, see all Commandments (just to understand that not even one person has been able to keep them and will be not, for all people are sinful from birth and are in need of Saviour).

In every way seek the Truth,  for Christ is the culmination of the Law so that there may be Righteousness for everyone who believes. Romans 10:4.

All who do love are from God and God's Principles for godly living automatically are in his/her heart, for God Himself put them in. All people are saved exclusively by faith alone, by grace alone in/ through Christ alone.

The life and godly walking according the God's advices will be what brings peace, joy and happiness. Not the concentration on the so called 10 commandments.

People who are free from the Law are enabled to live, and serve God from the bottoms of their hearts; they are able to love and do more than those who follow and try to live according to the Law.

Anyway, here is the good, holy and perfect Law:

First Commandment.

I am your God (Elohim; Creator). You shall have no other gods before Me. (Exodus 20:2-3; Deuteronomy 5:6-7).

He says that He delivered us out of slavery of sin, out of bondages of it and He is God alone. He says He is who He is and there is no matter what we think about Him. There is no matter who we have imagined or pictured Him as God for ourselves. He is who He is, YHWY, and we are created in His image to love Him all our days.

This first holy commandment is about Loyalty. God created heaven and earth. He created humans and rightly asks to revere, love and respect Him. We must demonstrate our love to Him by having no other "gods" in our lives. This first commandment points that we are responsible to make God as our only supreme authority in our lives. It says we must establish, develop and maintain relationship with Him. We must serve Him alone and obey Him alone.

When Jesus was asked which of all given law in Scriptures is the greatest, He answered – "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." (Matthew 22:37; Luke 10:27; Mark 12:30; Deuteronomy 6:5).

God is the Creator of everything we see and of everything we have and all what we are. All things come from God. Our future is secure only in our relationship with our Creator. Paul warns us not to be arrogant nor to put our hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put our hope in the living God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. (1 Timothy 6:17).

We must love our God and in all our ways acknowledge Him.

"Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing. (Isaiah 40:26).

"The heavens are Yours, and Yours also the earth; You founded the world and all that is in it." (Psalm 89:11).

The Bible begins – "In the beginning God..." (Genesis 1:1). Everything what we do and all what we are, must start with Him. "In the beginning God..." And only after than all the other our daily steps will be blessed. He must be first in all. If there is anything to whom or to what we give priority over Him, than in our live is creeped in false "god" and we violate His very first commandment. There is no another way to love Him as only give Him the priority in all we do, and in all we are, and in all we have.

God must be first in everything! We must love Him above all things!

"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness..." (Matthew 6:33).
