What happens after we are saved?
Only through Jesus and by His blood our sins can be washed away for all of us have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23.
And there is no another way how to receive forgiveness of sins and inherit eternal life as only through and by God's own provided way, for "salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved" as only Jesus Christ the Son of living God (Acts 4:12).
For it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one" (Romans 3:10).
Jesus is the only hope to receive the remission of our sins and inherit eternal life.
Now as you have repented in your heart, that is - turned to God with all your heart, soul and mind, and have accepted Jesus as your only Saviour and have received forgiveness, you have been given the Holy Spirit. Now the Holy Spirit comes and lives in you and will teach you all things. You are born again and you are a child of God. Now all your past, present and future sins are forgiven. This Spirit you have received "...brought about your adoption to sonship. And by Him we cry, "Abba, Father" (Romans 8:15).
Now "... you are born (again) not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God" (John 1:13).
"Now you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring Word of God" (1 Peter 1:23).
The incorruptible seed is the Holy Spirit of God, the Source of all spiritual life; it is the Spirit that beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of God.
Now you have Jesus Christ in your heart and you are a new creation. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Now "forget the former things; do not dwell on the past" (Isaiah 43:18) but renew your mind daily by sanctifying work of His Word by dwelling in the Truth. Romans 12:2.
For now you as a just born baby start to learn to live a new live which is by faith and not by sight as God has commanded you to do for He said - my righteous will live by faith. Hebrews 10:38; Romans 1:17.
A little by little you will learn the God's ways and will grow in Him by the help of His Spirit.
You will not experience something physical as many people think or expect, but you definitely will know that your past, present and future sins are forgiven. How? By believing in the eternal and living Word of God. You will know it in your heart and accept it through faith in Jesus and His finished work on that horrible cross.
You are forgiven totally and completely because of the blood of Jesus shed for you. It is His blood alone that washed away your sins which was as red as crimson for God Himself spoke through Isaiah 1:18 : "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool." Your sins has been washed away by the blood of Jesus.
For "I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions, for My own sake, and remembers your sins no more" (Isaiah 43:25).
"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace" (Ephesians 1:7).
Now believe in the Word of God your Father for it is true and right, and accept in your heart that you are fully justified. You are declared "not guilty!"
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely (absolutely for free, without doing anything except believe on the Lord Jesus and arrange the day of your baptism) by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus (Romans 3:23).
You are not a filthy sinner anymore but righteous in His eyes through Jesus Christ. This righteousness is given to you as a gift from God.
For "righteousness is given (not earned by any means) through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe" (Romans 3:22).
You are holy and blameless in the eyes of your heavenly Father, your Creator and the Creator of whole universe.
"He has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in His sight, without blemish and free from (any Satan's) accusation" (Colossians 1:22).
And now "we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (Ephesians 2:10).
After you are saved and born again by His Word, by His Holy Spirit, you will do the works of God in which He will lead you, guide you and counsel you. Your part is to stay in Him and with Him all the time by reading (listening) His eternal Word (the Bible) and speaking to Him (prayer) from your heart in truth and spirit so that you may be not deceived and thrown into confusion by the devil, the world and your own old sinful nature which still is in you.
You will need to deal with your old sinful nature all your life till your last breath because the original Sin, although condemned in Christ, still is in you. But with every day by renewing your mind you will become more like Jesus. Romans 12:2. This lifetime long process is called sanctification.
For through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all you have been made holy (sanctified) (Hebrews 10:10) but as you go on you will need to keep yourself closely to Jesus constantly. Every second of your life you will need to walk in His light for "if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin" (1 John 1:7).
"Now you are a temple of God, and God's Spirit lives in you" (1 Corinthians 3:16).
From now on check every teaching and word you hear. For God Himself advised - do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God (1 John 4:1). If teaching you hear is not in agreement with the God - forsake it.
But the most important thing for now is to trust He will make all things good, He will lead you, guide you and counsel you. Just trust in Him for it is now "God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose" (Philippians 2:13).
Live by faith for God said:
"My just, my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back" (Hebrews 10:38). So, we do not shrink back! We live by faith and not by sight.
"For in the Gospel the righteousness of God is revealed - a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith." (Romans 1:17)
God said also: "Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified (declared "not guilty") before God, because "the righteous will live by faith." (Galatians 3:11).
Now all things are new and you are a new creation. You are now legitimate child of living God and He is your lovingly Father who will watch over you and as a loving mother will lift you up any time you fall. He will teach you, discipline when needed, and definitely will bring you to the place where He wants you to be.
Never give up and do not be as those who fall away crucifying the Son of God over again and again. Hebrew 6:6.
Just keep up in growing relationship with Him and live by the Spirit. Keep His Word in your heart, mind and mouth all the time.
